The Velika Korita Soce, or the Soca Grand Canyon, is one of the most beautiful attractions of River Soca (Slovenia). The river has a total of 4 major limestone canyons, the largest of which is the Velika Korita. The canyon is located in the Triglav National Park, only 10 minutes from Bovec.

Soca Trail
The Soca Trail is one of the most popular routes in the Triglav National Park. Velika Korita is the 6th stop on the route. The starting point of the route is the well-known wooden suspension bridge.
The tour takes you around the Great Canyon in about 1-2 hours.
Hiking to Velika Korita, trail
The riverfront offers beautiful views of this stretch of Soca. You can get to the edge of the canyon from the car park on easier terrain.
From here, for more experienced hikers, a narrow, unmarked, and sometimes very exposed route leads right next to the gorge. The hike is about 1 hour and offers great views.

Mala Korita Soce - The Small Canyon
The counterpart of the Grand Canyon is the smaller one, Mala Korita, which is only 100 m long. Together with the Grand Canyon, it is a perfect hiking and trekking program. It's the 5th stop of the Soca Trail, next to its "bigger brother".
